SPECIAL FOOD REQUESTS
We always need peanut butter. We also need personal items and toiletries: deodorant, bar soap, shampoo, toothpaste and toothbrushes.

Saint James Food Pantry is a beacon of hope for so
many. Review the statistics that show how many
individuals and households the Food Pantry serves each month.
The St. James Food Pantry is essential to the area because it is the
largest food pantry in 60616 and the only food pantry in zip code
60605. We do not restrict our services based on income or religious
affiliation. Clients are served solely on whether or not they reside
in the 60616 or 60605 zip codes. High unemployment levels and the
increasing scarcity of affordable housing produce a greater need for
the services Saint James Food Pantry provides than ever before.
Homebound seniors who are not able to pick up food at the food pantry
may take advantage of an added service. Deliveries are made to the
homebound each week on Wednesday. These seniors are able to receive
food once every thirty days.
Food Pantry Staff
Peter Wawire is
the Saint James Social Care director and Cathy Moore is the manager of
the food pantry. Duane Robinson, Rosie Prince, Danny Givens, Anthony
Moore, Liz Graham, Oscar Paul, and Earline Sanders, together with a
host of other invaluable volunteers, make up the bags of food, keep the
pantry clean and ensure the food pantry is operating efficiently.
